Yoga is For Everyone

I first attended a yoga class in 1999 whilst at university and feeling a little burnt out. Intially it was a physical asana practice that I associated with yoga and which was the focus of my practice. I soon became aware of my breath and discovered I was not breathing efficiently. Through continued practice and learning to love relaxation my life slowly began to change and continiues to do so. Yoga I discovered is not a quick get fit fix it is a "journey to the self, by the self, through the self" - Bhagavad Gita

Having absorbed yoga as part of my daily life, in 2005 I joined the British Wheel of Yoga and further expanded my knowledge and experience on a year long foundation course. After taking a short break to become a Mum, I decided wanted to help others begin their yoga journey and enrolled a teacher traning course and welcomed my first students into an evening class in Denton in October 2008. I qualified as a British |Wheel of Yoga Teacher in 2011 and have since expanded my training to include, Baby Yoga, Childrens Yoga and Yin Yoga.

My favourite thing about yoga, "if you are breathing, you can do yoga" and that's because it isn't about being able to contort our bodies into the beatiful poses we might see in magazines or on websites. The only requirement is a comitment to practice, to listen to the body, to soften and to lessen the chatter of the mind.
